What is an Automatic Backwash Filter
The working principle is simple. Liquid flows through the filter screen, and particles gradually accumulate. Before the pressure differential becomes too high to cause a problem, a backwash cycle is automatically triggered—a small amount of filtered clean liquid flows back through the filter screen under high pressure, forcing dirt, soot, and other contaminants off the filter surface and discharged through the drain valve. The entire cycle takes 3 to 5 minutes, with the main flow uninterrupted throughout.
his is the fundamental difference between LianDa automatic backwash filters and every manual filter on your production line. No need to replace filter cartridges, no need to manually clean filter cartridges, and no need for anyone to open the casing and come into contact with contaminated liquid. Only continuous, reliable filtration and extremely low maintenance.
LianDa has been manufacturing automatic backwash filters for over 20 years. Flow rates up to 4000 m³/h, filtration accuracy from 10 to 3200 microns. Send us your flow rate, media, and micron requirements—our engineers will select the appropriate model for you before production begins.

PLC Timing Control for Automatic Backwash Filter
If differential pressure control is unsuitable for your installation conditions, LianDa also supports PLC timed control—backwashing runs at fixed intervals, independent of differential pressure readings. Most installation schemes use both methods simultaneously: differential pressure as the primary trigger, and timed control as a periodic backup. Your LianDa engineer will set two sets of thresholds based on your specific media and flow conditions.

- Minimizes costs
- High-efficiency filtration
- Equipment durability
- Reduced maintenance and labor costs
- Simple operation and maintenance
- Long service life
- Continuous operation
- Backwash filters can self-clean when clogged.
- Ordinary filters require manual cleaning of the filter element when clogged.
- Therefore, backwash filters have more advantages than ordinary filters, enabling higher throughput and wider applications.
Yes, you only need to send us the specifications of your backwash filter, and our team is ready to assist you in customizing a backwash filter suitable for your needs.
