The most fundamental difference between Johnson Screen and woven mesh lies in their structure. Wedge wire screens are made by resistance welding V-shaped cross-section wires wound around longitudinal support rods, forming continuous and uniform slot openings.
The choice of slot size depends on the particle size distribution (PSD) of the surrounding formation. Generally, the principle is to retain 90% of the formation sand particles (D90 method). Sand control applications in fine sand formations, water wells, and oil and gas wells often have stricter requirements. It is recommended to provide a formation sand sieving analysis report, based on which our LianDa engineers can recommend the most suitable slot size for your operating conditions.
