String Wound Filter Cartridges | High Dirt-Holding Capacity Depth Filtration Solution
Our wound filter cartridges are manufactured using precision CNC winding machines, which layer yarn in a honeycomb-like diamond pattern onto a core made of PP (polypropylene) or stainless steel. Consequently, a single cartridge is capable of retaining 3 to 5 times the amount of dirt compared to standard surface filters before the pressure differential reaches the replacement threshold. With filtration precision ranging from 0.5 to 150 microns, we ensure that you can find the ideal solution for your water treatment systems, chemical processes, or various industrial applications.
Different Types of Lianda String Wound Filter Cartridge

Nylon wound filter cartridges are specifically designed for applications involving acids, bases, solvents, and high-temperature liquids, offering exceptional chemical resistance, high dirt-holding capacity, and stable pressure drop characteristics.

This filter cartridge is manufactured from pure PP yarn and contains no binders or adhesives; it features broad chemical compatibility, reliable depth filtration capabilities, and maintains stable performance at temperatures up to 82°C.

Cotton wound filter cartridge uses cotton yarn wound on a stainless steel core and is FDA-compliant for food and water use. It is suitable for your oil, syrup, and juice filtration applications, with high dirt-holding capacity, good flow, and temperature resistance up to 121°C.

Fiberglass-wound filter cartridges can withstand high temperatures of up to 399°C and possess exceptional resistance to chemical corrosion. They offer the significant advantages of high strength and a long service life.
Applications of Wound Filter Cartridges

Sediment, silt, sand, and rust removal before RO membranes — protecting your membrane investment and reducing replacement frequency.

Cooling water, boiler feedwater, and process water clarification — keeping your industrial system clean and running without downtime.

Produced water treatment, crude oil pre-filtration, and chemical injection fluid clarification in demanding oilfield conditions.

Condensate polishing, boiler feedwater filtration, and high-temperature process fluid clarification — fiberglass options for extreme heat.

Edible oil clarification, syrup and juice filtration, beverage water pre-treatment — FDA cotton and PP options for food-safe requirements.

Nickel, copper, chrome bath clarification, rinse water filtration — particle removal to protect surface finish quality and bath longevity.

Pre-filtration of process chemicals, pharmaceutical bulk liquids, and injection wash water — nylon for chemical resistance and hygiene.

Slurry pre-filtration, process water recycling, and mineral process liquid clarification in high-contamination heavy industry environments.

String-wound filter cartridges are a type of depth filter cartridge that is made by weaving yarn (cotton, glass fiber, polypropylene, polyester, nylon, and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS))around a core usually of 304 SS or 316 SS.
String wound filter cartridges are generally single-use and not intended for you to clean or reuse because their fiber structure traps particles throughout the depth, and cleaning may release contaminants or damage performance; for reusable applications, sintered PE or PA cartridges are recommended as they are designed for backwashing and repeated use.
Yes, applicable materials meet FDA requirements. Our polypropylene string wound filter cartridges are made from FDA-compliant materials (21 CFR 177.1520), and cotton wound cartridges use FDA-compliant cotton suitable for food and beverage, edible oil, and potable water applications. Compliance documents and additional regulatory data are available upon request.
String wound filters have a great dirt-holding capability. This is because the string used in string wound filters produces a denser matrix with bigger void spaces than the fine fibers used in melt blown filters. Because of these larger void spaces, string wound filters can collect much more dirt before you need to replace them.
